GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The folks at PETA have a suggestion for helping to ensure that the woman who shot at a McDonald’s after failing to get bacon on her burger does not reoffend – make her eat a vegan diet during her stay.

The president and co-founder of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter Friday, April 24, to Kent County Sheriff Larry Stelma suggesting the change of cuisine for Shaneka Torres.

“Switching to vegan meals might just help this hot-tempered prisoner curtail some of the rage that led to her incarceration in the first place,” says Newkirk in the e-mail. “PETA would gladly help the Kent County Correctional Facility develop a menu that’s healthy, humane, cost-effective — and, of course, 100 percent bacon-free.”
