LEHIGH COUNTY, Pa. — A man charged with assaulting his girlfriend wrote her a letter asking her to lie about the assault so the charges would be dropped.

In the same letter, The Morning Call reports, Zachary Harding also asked her to marry him, drawing a picture of a ring.

Alysha Stamm, Harding’s girlfriend, responded by taking the letter to Whitehall police on Friday, leading to a felony charge of intimidation of witnesses against Harding.
