Woman was found by an officer apparently asleep and bound with rope in her car

SAN ANTONIO — A woman was arrested Wednesday after police say she made a faulty claim that she was kidnapped.

Sheila Eubank, 48, faces aggravated perjury charges and was placed on $10,000 bond at Bexar County Jail.

Eubank was found by an officer apparently asleep and bound with rope in her car on October 10, according to her arrest warrant.

Investigators realized her story was a hoax when a surveillance video revealed Eubank at a gas station buying lottery tickets alone at the same time that she claimed she was forced for over 12 hours to drive her kidnapper around the city at knifepoint.

According to WWLT.com, in her arrest affidavit, Eubank confessed to making up the story to avoid going to work.
