FORT DIX, N.J. — Authorities have charged a prison officer with having sex with an inmate at Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix in Burlington County, court records show.
Corrections Officer Jordan Pensak had sex with an inmate several times in an office, starting in 2024, and the inmate paid other inmates to act as lookouts during the encounters, the federal charge against her alleges.
The FBI served Pensak with a criminal summons at the prison on Monday. She is scheduled to appear in federal court in Camden Tuesday afternoon.
Lawyer information for Pensak was not immediately available. She lives in North Brunswick.
The federal Bureau of Prisons did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
The complaint describes a federal investigation in which investigators seized two cell phones the inmate used that contained numerous sexually explicit chats with Pensak, and photos and videos of the two.
In May, investigators used a search warrant to examine an Instagram account they allege Pensak used to communicate with other inmates about her alleged relationship with the victim inmate.
Investigators also obtained a search warrant for an Instagram account the victim used, which showed he and Pensak, from August 2025 to January 2026 , discussing their relationship and “professing their love,” the complaint says.
The communications described in the complaint also allege Pensak knew she was under investigation for the sexual relationship, writing that inmates “snitched.” She also considered quitting her job to end the probe and lied to a prison supervisor to protect the relationship.
The charge against Pensak relates to an alleged sex act that occurred on Jan. 8, 2026.
The prison, also known as FCI Fort Dix, is a low-security institution located on the grounds of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst with a current population of over 4,000 inmates.
