LANSING, Mich. — Attorney General Bill Schuette announced that his office will investigate allegations that an Aramark Correctional Services employee conspired to have a prisoner killed in a murder-for-hire plot.

MLive reports that Michigan State Police Sault Ste. Marie Post requested a warrant in the case last week.

The allegations are the latest in a string of troubles for Aramark, a private food service vendor that won a three-year, $145 million contract with the state last year. Company workers have also been accused of smuggling drugs into prisons and having sex with inmates.
