SALINAS, Calif. -- A Salinas Valley State Prison inmate has pleaded guilty to strangling a fellow inmate.
A Monterey County judge sentenced 59-year-old Clyde Beaver to life in prison without parole on after he entered his plea to murder charges Thursday.
Deputy District Attorney Chuck Olvis says Beaver killed his cellmate in April 2010. He did not immediately have any information about the victim.
At the time of the incident, Beaver was serving time for a 1978 murder in Tulare County. He also was sentenced to life without parole in that case.
