EDINBURG, Texas — A 19-year-old teenager is behind bars after allegedly attempted to hit his stepmother with a car during an argument.
The Valley Central reports that Andrew Rivera is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
He and his stepmother were driving in the car when the argument started; it’s unclear what started the argument.
Rivera punched his stepmother, which caused her to stop the car and get out. Rivera moved to the driver’s seat and struck his stepmother. She suffered bruising to the face and cuts to her legs.
Witnesses called 911 and police arrested Rivera. He remains in the Hidalgo County Jail on an $80,000 bond.
