TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Oklahoma native and prison inmate Adam G. Orr pleaded guilty to stabbing a fellow inmate. He was sentenced to 20 years for aggravated assault with intent to commit murder, U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Hogsett said in a statement on Monday.

On the morning of March 3, 2010, a prison official at the federal prison in Terre Haute responded to cursing and yelling from the laundry room to find Orr punching and stabbing a fellow inmate with a homemade weapon. The victim suffered more than 20 lacerations and stab wounds, a collapsed lung, rib and face fractures, and a possible kidney laceration.

During an interview with the FBI, Orr was asked if it was his intention to end the victim’s life during the assault. “Yes,” Orr replied. Orr claimed that his reason for the assault was because the victim called him a snitch and liar.
