Knox’s father, Curt Knox, hopes the book will change public perception of his daughter, ABC News reports.

Knox, nicknamed Foxy Knoxy, was convicted for killing her British roommate — Meredith Kercher — while both were studying abroad at in Perugia, Italy in 2007. Knox’s accomplices in the murder, Raffaele Sollecito and Rudy Guede, are also serving long sentences.

Girlanda’s new book about Knox, called “Take Me With You: Conversations With Amanda Knox in Prison” is based on about 20 conversations with the inmate, ABC News reports, and the author has said that he believes Knox is innocent.

The Associated Press reports that Girlanda’s book is one of many about the grisly 2007 murder, but unlike most others, this new barely mentions the murder.

The book focuses on Knox’s personality, her upbringing in Seattle, and her hopes for life after prison, the AP reports.
