SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Puerto Rico police say a man accused of killing an 11-month-old baby because he was angry with the girl’s mother has been arrested in central Florida.
Police say 40-year-old Edgardo Castillo Pagan was to be extradited Friday afternoon from Polk County.
They accuse Castillo of taking the girl to a candy store last June and bringing her back to the mother battered and bruised, telling her it was revenge for not wanting to get back together with him. Police say the girl died at a hospital from injuries including a skull fracture.
Castillo was one of Puerto Rico’s most wanted fugitives.
