SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- Police say a man charged with killing his 16-year-old son tortured his wife and children for 11 hours, including beating them with a wrench and forcing them to walk on broken glass.
The San Bernardino Sun says Ian Roderiquez accused family members of stealing his drugs during last week’s ordeal.
Family members told police that the 35-year-old Roderiquez also stabbed family members and threatened to set them on fire.
His 16-year-old son was found dead in the garage on March 23. His 35-year-old wife is in critical condition. Two other children _ ages 12 and 13 _ also remain hospitalized. His 8- and 10-year-old daughters were treated for injuries.
Roderiquez has pleaded not guilty to murder, attempted murder, torture and child abuse.
