NEW YORK — A reputed Mafia boss and another defendant have been found guilty of racketeering conspiracy and other counts but acquitted in the killing of a New York Police Department officer.
A jury in Brooklyn federal court rendered the mixed verdict Wednesday in the trial of Thomas “Tommy Guns” Gioeli and Dino “Little Dino” Saracino.
Prosecutors say Gioeli is a former boss of the Colombo crime family. Saracino is a reputed mob soldier.
They were accused in the brutal slayings of six victims including an off-duty police officer. Officer Ralph Dols was killed in 1997.
