HOUSTON — Legal experts say the new arrest of a teenage burglary suspect who was allegedly beaten by several Houston police officers during an incident caught on video could pose problems for prosecutors who are still trying to get convictions in the case.

Four ex-Houston police officers were indicted for their roles in the 2010 alleged beating of Chad Holley during a burglary arrest that sparked criticism by community leaders.

The first ex-officer to be tried was acquitted in May.

Holley was placed on probation for the 2010 burglary. He’s been released on bond after his latest arrest.

Attorneys for two of the other indicted officers say they want jurors in the pending trials to know about the new arrest. At attorney for Holley says jurors should only consider the officers’ actions.
