LOS ANGELES -- A former caregiver for sickly residents at an upscale retirement home in the Los Angeles suburb of Calabasas was sentenced yesterday to serve six years in prison for elder abuse and life behind bars for torture.
Cesar Ulloa, 22, of Reseda, was convicted April 8 of abusing three elderly residents -- two men and one woman -- in addition to the torture of 80-year-old Elmore Kittower at Silverado Senior Living.
“I wish you suffer forever for all the pain you’ve caused,” Rita Kittower, Elmore’s 86-year-old widow, said during yesterday’s hearing. “This is a cruel, evil caregiver who preyed many times on helpless people.”
