SALINAS, Calif. – Described by prosecutors as “too dangerous to have in a courtroom together,” four inmates planned to attack a corrections officer while they were being led into the rec yard.
KSBW reports that a Monterey County sheriff’s deputy suffered major injuries during the May 24 incident and still has not been able to return to work.
The inmates include Armando Canchola, Francisco Miranda, Alberto Cortez and Marcos Zamora.
Three of the four are accused killers. Sentencing for one was delayed due to the jail attack. All are facing lengthy sentences for their crimes.
