BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and filing of a criminal complaint against the suspect responsible for the killing of a correctional officer at his home in southwest Bakersfield.
Police said Friday there is no new information to release in the killing of 60-year-old Carl Aaron Crawford. He was discovered by his girlfriend at 8:32 a.m. Aug. 22 in the 2600 block of Hempstead Lane.
Detectives say in court filings it appeared Crawford had been shot multiple times.
The reward is being offered through the Secret Witness program. Callers will be asked to select a code name and code number when they provide information.
Should additional contact with the caller be necessary, the code name will be published along with a request for the original caller to establish contact. Once contact is made, the caller will be asked to provide their original code number for verification purposes.
