Contraband: ‘Dummy’ prisoner

This piece of contraband was submitted by a corrections officer in Indiana. He wrote, “This is a very important picture I think everyone should see. From a short distance and even from up close this appears to be an offender lying face down in his bed, sleeping.

“But after this offender was caught in another housing unit, corrections officers were alerted to how real this homemade dummy actually looks when doing a quick check.

So my fellow officers: Make sure to look for a living, breathing body when you’re doing your rounds. You should be able to see the offender’s actual skin so you can be assured the prisoner is where he/she is supposed to be.”
