KINGSTON, N.Y. — A Wappingers Falls woman was charged with promoting prison contraband after a hypodermic needle was found hidden inside her body during a search at the Ulster County Jail.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said Nicole P. Mastro, 19, of Wappingers Falls, was being processed into the jail on Saturday on an unrelated charge when the needle was found.

She was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, a felony. The sheriff’s office said she will be arraigned on the charge in Kingston City Court at a later date.
