JACKSON — The lockdowns put in place during a department-wide contraband sweep in the Mississippi Department of Corrections have been lifted at six facilities.
WAPT reports that security remains high following a contraband incident at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility, according to state officials. Four people were arrested and charged in a second contraband incident at the South Mississippi Correctional Institution.
Unit 30 at Parchman and the South Mississippi Correctional Institution currently remain on lockdown.
