ATTICA, N.Y. — An inmate was stabbed and several others were injured after a series of fights broke out at Attica Correctional Facility over the weekend.
Officials told WIVB4 that the first fight happened on Saturday, then more fights broke out in the days following.
During the third fight involving 12 inmates, COs deployed gas to control the violence, the news station reported.
The final fight ended with the stabbing of an inmate.
No officers or prison staff were injured.
The prison is currently on lockdown and a search for contraband is ongoing.
