WISCASSET, Maine — Three inmates from the Two Bridges Regional Jail were indicted for trafficking contraband inside the prison by ‘cheeking’ their medication.

The Wiscasset Newspaper reports that anonymous notes in Officer Paul Rubashkin’s office tipped him off to the fact that Janessa Moulton was “cheeking” her medication, namely Subutex, and bringing it back to her housing pod to share with Windi St. Thomas and Stephanie Clark.

Rubashkin confronted Clark, who said she would test positive for Suboxone she had received at the Cumberland Court House the week prior.

She also confirmed to Rubashkin that it was Moulton who was cheeking medication from the medical unit to bring back to the housing pod.

St. Thomas was in custody in Waldo County by the time she was tested for drugs, and she tested positive for Suboxone. Since she was being held on prior violations of bail conditions and Class A drug trafficking, all three were charged with trafficking in prison contraband.

The charges carry a maximum of five years in prison.
