GUAM — A correctional officer appointed to the transport team was charged with driving under the influence after he crashed into a tree.
Police responded to the crash and found Officer Daniel Sean Silpao Babauta inebriated behind the wheel, according to Pacific Daily News.
Babauta told police that he had two beers at a baby shower and then another “five or six” at a cousin’s home. He refused a breathalyzer test.
Though Babauta is not being placed on administrative leave, he is being moved to another section of the department.
He was arrested I n2012 on allegations of drunk driving, among other charges. He pleaded guilty to reckless driving and the DUI charge was dismissed.
