2 Ind. deputies killed in crash while driving to call
Jail Deputy Dane Northcutt was doing a ride-along off-duty with Deputy Noah Rainey; both were pronounced dead at the scene

CLINTON COUNTY, Ind. — The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is in mourning after two of its deputies were killed in a crash early Saturday.
The deputies were en route to assist with a traffic stop when their vehicle went off the road and struck a utility pole, according to the Indiana State Police.
The driver was identified as Deputy Noah Rainey. His passenger, Jail Deputy Dane Northcutt, was doing a ride-along and off duty. Both deputies were pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts, according to the release.
