CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The second of two suspects sought in the June 5 shooting death of a north Charlotte man who worked as a state prison guard surrendered to police Saturday, authorities say.
Raphael White, 30, of Charlotte, turned himself in to Mecklenburg County sheriff’s deputies. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said White will be charged with murder, in the death of Bias Easley, who worked as an officer at the Lanesboro Correctional Institution in Anson County.
The other suspect, Trevor White, 29, of Charlotte, surrendered to police in mid-July. Investigators said the shooting was not related to Easley’s job but was the result of a dispute between the victim and one of the suspects.
Beasley’s body was found shortly after 5 p.m. June 5 in the walkway of the High Meadow Condominiums, in the 800 block of Farmhurst Drive.
