UK — X Factor champion Sam Bailey was on ITV’s Daybreak this morning for her first TV interview since winning the talent show last night .
Speaking to Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones about the moments after she was crowned the winner of X Factor 2013, Sam said instead of partying the night away, she wanted to sit down and reflect.
Sam said: “[I was] totally, totally overwhelmed by it all. Last night a soon as I left, I went over to the hotel and there was a bit of a party going on and I walked in and literally got mobbed and all I wanted to do was sit in a dark room with a cup of tea and just reflect on everything, it was really strange.”
Crediting her job, Sam said working in the prison service has given her the thick skin that will help her now she’s gracing the front pages and said any negative headlines will only make her stronger: “You know what it’s just going to make me go a bit stronger… I’m used to taking a bit from people so to have people have a bit of a pop at me, bring it on, I really don’t care.”
