TERRELL COUNTY, Ga. — The Terrell County Sheriff hosted a food drive for needy children in the community.
Titled “Fill Sheriff Bowens Hummer to feed little tummies,” the department partnered with Family Connection to put on the food drive, as reported by WALB News.
“They came up with the idea that school is out and kids will be out and want to make sure that they have food throughout the summer,” said Sandra Walker, Terrell County Jail Administrator. “So we’re going to try to do this twice a year, May and December of each year.”
The donations go to the Terrell County Food Bank on Dec. 29.
