ROMULUS — An inmate at the Seneca County Correctional Facility has been charged with second-degree assault with intent to cause serious injury and second-degree assault while confined in a correctional facility.
Benjamin M. Greenfield, 32, of Seneca Boulevard, Waterloo, was arrested Dec. 4 in connection with the alleged assault of another jail inmate Nov. 28.
County sheriff’s deputies said Greenfield and the other inmate, who wasn’t identified, were disputing possession of a magazine when Greenfield punched the other inmate with a closed fist, breaking his nose. Deputies say Greenfield then used his elbow to break an eye socket before correctional facility staffers intervened.
