NEW ORLEANS, La. — An Orleans Parish Prison inmate escaped Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 17) after scaling a razor-wire fence surrounding the jail building at 2620 Tulane Ave., according to the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Sean Andry, 46, jumped the fence during the afternoon exercise period, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Evidence indicates that Andry suffered injuries from the razor wire, OPP spokesman Philip Stelly said.

Andry was in the prison on charges of theft of more than $500, possession of stolen property worth more than $500 and resisting an officer. His bond was set at $15,000. California authorities have also issued a detainer for him, but no more information was available.
