CLEVELAND — A 28-year-old Cleveland man has been charged with running a prostitution ring from a county jail by asking someone to recruit prostitutes for him.
Darius Clark was charged Thursday after authorities say they learned in November that he was running a prostitution ring from Cuyahoga County Jail. Clark was jailed in September on charges of felonious assault, aggravated burglary and criminal damaging for an alleged attack on a 17-year-old girl at a suburban nursing home.
Prosecutors have a case pending in the U.S. Supreme Court that seeks to reinstate Clark’s previous conviction and 28-year sentence for child abuse. His appellate attorneys successfully argued that a pre-school teacher for a 3-year-old victim shouldn’t have been allowed to testify at trial.
Clark’s attorneys did not return messages on Thursday.
