SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — A new national campaign is hoping to encourage Congress to renew a home visitation program that helps prevent female crime.

Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, an anti-crime organization, has recently launched the ‘Orange is Not Your Color’ campaign to fight an increase of 600 percent in female incarceration in the last 30 years.

Over 1,000 police chiefs, sheriffs and prosecutors signed a letter urging Congress to renew the Maternal, Infant, Early Childhood (MIECHV) Program, which sends nurses and mentors to women’s homes to help them in the raising of their children.

Fight Crime: Invest in Kids is a national, non-profit, bi-partisan organization of nearly 5,000 chiefs, sheriffs, prosecutors, attorneys general and violence survivors.
