Riot quelled at New Mexico facility

The inmates covered up cameras and attempted to break windows

GRANTS, N.M. — A riot at the Cibola County Correctional Facility has ended after corrections officers regained control of the facility.

According to KRQE, the riot started at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday and was ended two hours later. Inmates had become unruly and attacked a lieutenant and a sergeant.

The inmates covered up cameras and attempted to break windows.

No officers were injured in the confrontation.
