SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — When 5-day-old puppies showed up on the doorstep of the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society, they immediately needed someone who was able to provide round-the-clock care.
The South Dakota Penitentiary, which runs a program called Parole Pups, was contacted and stepped up to the plate to foster the puppies, according to Keloland.
Inmates are assigned shifts, as the puppies have a feeding schedule of ever four hours. They’ve been caring for the puppies for three weeks.
The Humane Society is very impressed with the inmate’s dedication toward the pups.
