RALLS CO, Mo. — Rescuers are still searching for a missing boater, a worker at the Northeast Missouri Correction Facility, after he disappeared while looking for mushrooms.
According to WGEM, Terry Marshall, 60, was using a boat while hunting for the fungi.
“Terry is 60 years old but he doesn’t act like it,” said Gina Scott, Marshall’s stepdaughter. “He’s very young at heart, he’s an outdoorsman so he’s more comfortable in the woods than anywhere.
“So if anybody was going to be stuck out there it’s going to be him to make it. He knows how to survive, he hunts and he fishes, it’s just his nature.”

A truck and a boat belonging to Marshall were located by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, but there was no sign of Marshall himself. Sonar boats and K-9 officers were used to search the surrounding area on Wednesday, and the search continues today.
“We’re going to revert to a surface search, which means we will be taking the boats along the edge of the river looking for anything that may have floated to the surface,” Cpl. Darren Mueller said.
The main theory authorities are working with is that Marshall’s boat hit a stump, and he was thrown into the water.
