ATLANTA — A transgender inmate who claimed she’d been assaulted numerous times throughout her incarceration inside Georgia prisons has been transferred to a lower security facility.
WMAZ reports that Ashley Diamond filed a lawsuit against the Department of Corrections, accusing other inmates and prison staff of assaulting and mistreating her.
She has since been transferred to Rutledge State Prison, where Diamond said she has felt the safest.
Her suit is still underway.
