Using ridged cuffs as a control device

In any situation, securing a subject in hand cuffs can be dangerous for all parties involved. This tactical tip will show the quick access, easy application and the immediate control the officer can have when using ridged cuffs (e.g., helping another staff member who’s in peril). We will also address wall stabilization and the importance of stacking the cuffs when necessary.

He is a former staff noncommissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps, a member of the Police Magazine advisory board, and a technical advisory board member for Force Science Research Center. Dave is an active member of the American Society for Law Enforcement Training (ASLET), International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA).
