TAYLORSVILLE — An employee of the Salt Lake County Jail was killed when her vehicle struck another Friday morning.
KSL reports that Jill Huston, 50, was driving through an intersection when another vehicle struck her. The details of the accident were not immediately available and the incident is under investigation.
Huston was taken to a nearby medical center, but succumbed to her injuries.
“We’re very devastated. Obviously our thoughts and well wishes go to her family. Just a huge loss for us today,” said Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Sgt. Cammie Skogg.
Huston had been employed at the jail for seven years, starting off in the warehouse and eventually moving up to the position of control room operator.
Huston was described as a very active part of the office and was well liked. Houston also assisted in other duties, such as helping to plan parades and other events.
