LOS ANGELES — A female correctional officer is being commended for her quick actions after an inmate jumped from an upper level area in a Los Angeles county jail.
Deputy Clarissa Torres was letting inmates out of their cells for group therapy at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility when she saw one attempting to jump off the upper tier, according to KTLA.
In surveillance video, Torres grabs the man’s wrist as he lets go of the railing. Other deputies on the floor grab the inmate’s legs.
The inmate was then lowered to the floor uninjured and handcuffed without incident.
