Authorities say a 66-year-old man jailed for being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm has escaped from the medium-security section of a Northern California prison.
California Correctional Center spokeswoman Margaret Pieper says Donald Silks disappeared from the prison near Susanville sometime Saturday. He was last seen around 9 a.m.
He is described as white, about 5-feet-9 inches tall and 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt and an orange jacket with the initials C.D.C.R., for California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, on the back.
