Amarillo Native Barnes Captured After Prison Break

Irving, Texas — A fugitive from Amarillo is on his way to a higher security prison in Hunstville after his capture Wednesday.

21 year old Joshua Duane Barnes surrendered to police today after hiding out in an abandoned house in Irving.

A spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice says Barnes faces a new batch of charges after his Saturday prison break in Galveston. She says he could be charged with felony escape, auto theft, and robbery.
