CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Police are searching for an inmate who is armed and “extremely dangerous” after he escaped from a hospital’s emergency department Wednesday night.
ABC News reported that Edward Moore Jr., 39, escaped and carjacked a vehicle after a struggle with a deputy.
Moore assaulted the deputy, grabbed the deputy’s TASER, and escaped while wearing his orange jumpsuit.
According to WNCN, the stolen Buick and the deputy’s TASER were found Wednesday night.
Moore was being treated at a local hospital when he escaped.
