Last week Corrections1 reported on an escaped British prisoner who was updating his Facebook profile on the run. Now, it appears the fugitive is taking the practice to the next level. He is taunting police via Facebook and musing about moving the the U.S.
His profile picture shows him flipping off the camera.
A convicted burglar, Craig Lynch, 28, escaped from the minimum-security Hollesly Bay Prison, near the village of Woodbridge in southern England, three months ago, Associated Press reports.
“if any of you was doubtin my freedom. Here’s proof,” he recently posted with a photo of himself holding a turkey. “How the f*** could i get my hands on a bird like this in jail. ha ha.”
So far, Lynch’s Facebook page has amassed over 12,500 fans, with many of his followers praising the escapee for his daring behaviour, CBC News reports.
“i aint handin myself in,” Lynch wrote yesterday, according to AP. “why am i going to do their job for them. What do they get payed for. And does anyone have a cannon, i need firing over the atlantic.”
Lynch’s Facebook page has spawned several other fan pages on the social networking website, with both fan and hate groups following his movements.
One fan warns him to be careful and “don’t get caught” because his IP address is given to Facebook at every log-in.
In a recent update, Craig (Lazie) Lynch says Facebook deleted his original page of over 4,000 fans, but since signing up again, that number has already risen to 3,000.
“Trying to figure out my plans for New Years. I know what I want to do but it’s not that easy,” he writes.
Lynch’s Facebook profile has him located in “Wembley, London, United Kingdom”, yet authorities have so far failed to find him, News.com.au is reporting
Suffolk Constabulary spokeswoman Anne-Marie Breach said police were keeping close tabs on Lynch’s Facebook updates.
“Everyone else is,” she said.
