SOUTH BEND, Ind. — A new cocktail containing the drug Brevital will be used in a three-step process for the death penalty in the state of Indiana.

According to ABC 57, the state says the combination is completely painless. Indiana made the switch because of a shortage of other available drugs.

The first man who may be executed using this cocktail is Wayne Kubsch, who’s been sitting on death row since 2000. He’s been delaying his execution with appeals since 2011.

Indiana has not executed any prisoners since 2009.
