Fla. deputy, CO give up vacation to help Sandy victims

No heat, power or running water; that was the best case scenario for tens of thousands of people affected by the storm

CHARLOTTE CO., Fla. — A sheriff’s deputy and a corrections officer used their vacation time to help Sandy victims in New Jersey earlier this month.

They shared their pictures and stories with Four In Your Corner’s Colleen Hogan.

No heat, power or running water; that was the best case scenario for tens of thousands of people affected by the storm. At worst, people died and homes and memories were destroyed. But helping those affected, were two Charlotte County emergency workers.
