COURT HOUSE – Oct. 3, 2012 Corrections Officer Gary E. Erdmann, Jr. was awarded as the Cape May County Corrections Officer of the Year at the 15th Annual New Jersey County Jail Wardens Association’s Training Conference.
Officer Erdmann was hired by Cape May County in October of 2005. He served in the United States Marine Corp for ten years prior to his employment with Cape May County. Officer Erdmann is the Cape May County Correctional Center Safety Officer and certifies the correctional staff in First Aid and CPR.
He is assigned with three other officers to a special detail squad within the facility. Officer Erdmann was specifically recognized for his outstanding representation of the Office of the Sheriff while assisting outside agencies, private contractors and other county departments.
