The 28-year-old inmate was out for free time when he allegedly attacked a deputy without provocation, officials told KIRO 7. The deputy tried to detain the inmate when other officers jumped in to help.
Another deputy and a sergeant were also injured during the struggle, the news station reported. All three were transported to a local hospital. The were treated for minor injuries and released.
The inmate was restrained and evaluated. He remains in jail.
