DENVER, Colo. — The Colorado Department of Corrections will be purchasing 269 new, custom-fitted ballistic vests for its staff.
Current equipment expired five years ago, according to The Denver Channel. Every community parole officer, team leader, supervisor and manager will be fitted with a Second Chance MR01 Monarch Summit Level IIIA ballistic vest.
The new vests, which will be followed by a policy that will make wearing them mandatory during pre-parole investigations and home visits, will cost $682.95 each.
