INDIANAPOLIS — An inmate reportedly attacked two corrections officers Friday, leaving one of them with multiple injuries, memory loss and a concussion.
In the first attack, Wytwaine Jackson allegedly assaulted a Duvall Residential Center CO, according to WISH. Jackson told Officer Chevis Gray he was going to “f-- you up like I did the other officer,” according to court records. Gray, confused by Jackson’s threat, told Jackson to calm down and was punched several times before he was able to call for backup.
Jackson was then transferred to Marion County Arrestee Processing Center. After the transfer, Cpl. Brent Smith was placing another inmate in Jackson’s cell when Jackson repeatedly punched Smith in the face, Fox 59 reported.
Smith was transported to the hospital with a broken nose and teeth, multiple lacerations, memory loss and a concussion. He may need surgery for his injuries.
Jackson, 22, was handcuffed by Smith’s colleagues and a stun gun was used to subdue him. He is charged with aggravated battery and battery resulting in bodily injury to a public safety officer for the attack on Smith.
