Inmate breaks Ohio CO’s wrist

Officials said the inmate became combative when the officer searched her pant pockets

CLEVELAND — An inmate allegedly broke a corrections officer’s wrist during a search Friday.

According to Cleveland.com, Samantha Honor, 28, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor assault and became combative during transport to Cleveland city jail. She was kept handcuffed during booking.

The officer searched Honor’s jacket pockets and had her remove her shoes, but said Honor became aggressive when the officer attempted to search her pant pockets.

Honor grabbed the officer’s hand and dug in her fingernails. Officials told the publication the CO’s fingers became caught in the handcuffs and she fractured her wrist when Honor pulled away.

The officer was treated at a local hospital. Honor was charged with felonious assault for the incident with the officer. She has not been charged for the initial incident that resulted in her arrest.
