NEW YORK — A Rikers Island deputy warden was attacked on her stoop by a former inmate and two of the inmate’s friends.
Tatanisha Banks was on her stoop Sunday night when two 18-year-olds and one 19-year-old ganged up on her, reported the Fort Greene Patch. They repeatedly punched Banks in the face and shoulder.
The suspects fled from the scene. As of Friday morning, the suspects were still at large. Police said Banks was treated for bruising and swelling on the scene.
Banks could not recall the suspect’s name, but confirmed that one of the women had been an inmate in Rikers’ Anna M. Kross Center, the New York Daily News reported.
NYPD is investigating.
