USPS releases new PTSD awareness stamp
Net proceeds from the stamp will go toward treating veterans, first responders with post-traumatic stress disorder

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The U.S. Postal Service has issued a new stamp meant to bring awareness and support to those with post-traumatic stress disorder.
The “Healing PTSD” semi-postal stamp (a postage stamp issued to raise money for a particular cause) was unveiled on Thursday and features a photographic illustration of a green plant sprouting amongst fallen leaves, which symbolizes the healing process, according to USPS.
Net proceeds from the stamp will go to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, which oversees the National Center for PTSD.
“Today, with the issuance of this stamp, the nation renews its commitment to raise funds to help treat soldiers, veterans, first responders, healthcare providers and other individuals dealing with this condition,” said dedicating official David C. Williams, vice chairman of the USPS Board of Governors, at a first-day-of-issue stamp ceremony.
The stamps are First-Class stamps and cost 65 cents.
